To support the University of Central Florida’s (UCF) new Trevor Colbourn Hall, VHB developed a landscape architecture design that would promote a cohesive and inviting landscape aligned with UCF's dynamic campus atmosphere. The design involved articulating open spaces, parking layouts, pedestrian pathways, and roadway configurations. VHB developed concepts for preferred building entry and opportunities to incorporate landscaping and stormwater options, enhance pedestrian connections, service zones, gathering plazas, and entry features.
VHB's collaborative and detailed design approach emphasized the integration of existing plant life, along with strategic recommendations for the placement of new trees and native plants. To guide project delivery and tie together existing landscapes, parking areas, and pedestrian walkways, VHB developed hand-drawn sections and proposed specialty paving materials and site elements, such as fences and furniture to enrich the campus environment.
