New Hampshire Municipalities

Empowering New Hampshire communities to create a safer, more sustainable future.

VHB’s Bedford office is home to more than 90 team members, including 47 certified New Hampshire professional engineers, nine Local Public Agency (LPA) certified staff, and three certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineers (PTOE). Creating a positive and lasting impact on New Hampshire's local cities and towns is our priority, and our municipal-focused team has more than 40 years of experience delivering across a variety of services. We collaborate closely with municipalities to strengthen the state's thriving economy, enhance local communities, and safeguard valuable environmental resources.

Through on-call contracts, VHB is actively partnering with local New Hampshire regional planning commissions (RPCs) including the Southern New Hampshire PC, Rockingham Planning Commission and Nashua RPC, and municipalities including the Towns of Exeter, Salem, Goffstown, Durham, Amherst, and Bedford and the Cities of Concord, Manchester, and Lebanon. In addition to these on-calls contracts, we work across many other communities on a variety of standalone projects, including the Madbury Road Complete Streets Project in Durham and the South Manchester Rail Trail in Manchester.

“VHB's specialized knowledge of the environmental review process, along with their early engagement with the appropriate environmental agencies, was vital in helping us progress the project forward through permitting to construction, avoiding costly setbacks in the process.”

VHB’s New Hampshire Safety Team is dedicated to establishing safer transportation systems. We've helped plan and facilitate more than 25 Road Safety Audits (RSAs), helping communities secure funding for future improvements. We are actively collaborating with RPCs to enhance transportation safety and assist with Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) projects, which involve developing comprehensive safety action and implementation plans to effectively reduce traffic-related fatalities and injuries.
