For the ninth year in a row, VHB has been named a Best Place to Work in Virginia by Virginia Business magazine, selected from a list of more than 200 companies that were evaluated based on employee feedback. VHB was recognized and ranked in the Large Employers category (more than 250 U.S. employees) for prioritizing employee well-being. VHB values professional development and connection with employees, provides a flexible work environment, promotes a welcoming and respectful culture, and maintains a generational company model.

"We believe that a thriving workplace is built on collaboration, stewardship, and learning and development," said Nancy Barker, Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager. "Through initiatives that connect employees with meaningful opportunities, we foster an environment where both personal and professional development can flourish.”

VHB Cares is the company’s charity-focused group that provides essential services to local communities while also engaging employees in social activities that make a real impact. Additionally, our Emerging Professionals Group is growing rapidly and encourages employees, especially those with less than 10 years of experience, to get involved. This group offers valuable training sessions on topics like career advancement, hosts social events, and provides a structured mentorship program. Together, these initiatives help create a collaborative and enriching environment.

“Since joining VHB, I have had so many opportunities to connect with and learn from colleagues who are making a genuine impact in our communities,” said Grace Pickron, Marketing Programs Specialist in Richmond. “Drawing inspiration from them, I am motivated to create my own unique path within the company.”

With four offices and more than 170 employees across Virginia, VHB’s dedicated professionals include engineers, scientists, planners, designers, data scientists, and technology professionals who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.

“I value the genuine kindness and support at VHB, which I experienced from my time as an intern to my current full-time role,” said Kheira Bekkadja, a Civil Designer on the Land Development team in Tysons, VA. “I appreciate the company's strong culture of mentorship and collaboration, as well as colleagues' willingness to share advice and personal experiences. VHB fosters an inclusive and encouraging environment where I feel comfortable seeking guidance and learning continuously.”
