VHB is supporting the I-75 Corridor Study, an 18.5-mile widening initiative led by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) from north of Golden Gate Parkway in Collier County to south of Corkscrew Road in Lee County. The study is focused on increasing capacity, improving traffic operations, accommodating future demand, and enhancing safety along this heavily traveled corridor in Southwest Florida. The corridor is being evaluated for expanded general use capacity and the addition of express lanes to help reduce congestion and improve regional mobility.
As part of the design-build team led by American Structure Point, with Prince Contracting as a key partner, VHB is delivering tolling, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and traffic modeling services to support the proposed express lanes. VHB is evaluating corridor performance and shaping tolling strategy while using data-informed traffic modeling to identify and advance innovative solutions to address current congestion and future travel demand. These efforts guide technology deployments, operational strategies, and design decisions that enhance mobility, reliability, and safety along the corridor. By contributing these services during the pursuit phase, VHB is helping develop forward-looking, implementable solutions that deliver value to FDOT and improve the overall traveler experience.
